here's what's up...

Complete Randomness....
It's been a LONG day. We've had several meltdowns (some were mine),
I’m not quite sure how I got so over booked for today.
Although the day is not over yet....I feel like I have accomplished more today than I do in some weeks
I sat down last night and made a list of what I had to do today and it was 2 full pages front and back.
Never had one quite that long before.
I’ve crossed a million things off of a packing list, and it feels good.

Oh yeah, did I mention Ryan and I are going on a little get-a-way?
I am so excited I can not wait to have him ALL TO MYSELF.
Ry works so hard and we could both use some time together. He's so great!!!!
We are going to California for his little bro’s wedding.
We were originally going to make it part of our family vacation,
but decided to leave the kids home this time ….they can’t go to the temple and the reception is going to be LATE and fancy, nothing worse than crabby kids at a special event
I’m mostly ok with it because we are going to try and go to Utah AGAIN for Thanksgiving and they’ll get to see the fam. then
We are postponing our fam. vacation til Oct. I’ve always wanted to go to Disneyland for Halloween.
Anyone want to join us.

The kids start school two days after we get back.
I finished up all of the back to school shopping today.
The days are escaping me with my two boys heading back to school.
I'm desperate to hang onto them.
They are so helpful to me, and Becca is completely entertained all day long by them.
I’m afraid she is going to be bored with me.
We had a nice routine this summer and I’m going to miss my little buddies.
I don't like that I feel like important relationships are slowly drifting away.
I cherish all of my friends and love making new ones.
I'm trying to figure out ways to be a better friend
I've been very emotional lately. Don't read into that it means NOTHING!
One was at the dentist this week. I was watching Becca have her first exam ever.
Seeing her in the big chair beaming from ear to ear was just too much.
I kept laughing and saying how stinking cute she is Dr. said, "I’ve never seen a mom more proud."
I just kept laughing because I could feel the knot in my throat and I knew if I stopped laughing the tears would come!
I'm excited to see my mom and dad in 2 days.
They both inspire me so much. My mom is always ALWAYS giving and doing for others and so supportive of Ry and I. I hope when I am a Mother in law I will be able to make my in-law children feel as loved and accepted as well as she does. Ryan and my Mom get a long so well, and she thinks the world of him. She goes on and on about what a darling dad, amazing husband and all around great guy he is. She has taken the time to really get to know how great Ryan is and I just think that's pretty cool!!
I am having a date at home tonight with my man. I'm in charge and I hope he's game for what I have plan. It should be pretty fun or maybe funny, I don't know. hahaha
I guess that's enough randomness for now. It was nice to take a few minutes for myself to jot down my feelings. I love my life and just feel really blessed to have all that I have.

Here is a cute picture of me and my girl. LOVE her so much!!!!!

A trip to the Dentist

Becca had her very first dentist appointment this week.
I talked it up A LOT before we got there and she was very excited and did a great job.

She was such an angel and did everything they asked her to do.

as they were taking her x-rays I got a little teary-eyed
thinking about how fast my baby is growing up.
but then again looking at how little she is made me chuckle.
She looks so tiny in that chair and they ended up having to have her
get on a little stool so the camera could reach her.
she was very excited as she was waiting for the doctor to come in.

again she did a great job doing everything they asked her to do.
Our dentist was so cute with her and really helped her feel safe and comfortable.
so...we found out that she is missing two permanent teeth on top.
She will adventually need some orthadontal work done,
but for now she is good to go and best of all NO CAVITIES!!!!

Way to go sweet little bug!!!
***Confession...we stopped at target before heading to the dentist and I found this shirt on sale. I squilled with excitement when I realized it would match perfectly with some scrapbook paper I have and yes I bought it and had her change in the car before going in to the dentist office. silly I know. Click here to see the scrapbook pages I made to match the shirt. :)

Getting Organized

I'm a sucker for cute wrapping paper.
I love to wrap presents and make matching cards to go with them.
Well I have so much paper and not enough room to store it all.

We have one of those long rectangle tubs that fits under the bed
specifially for gift wrap but most of my rolls are too long and don't fit.
I have been trying to organize our home and simplify.
Although it was tempting to head to the store and try
and find some cute way to store my paper I decided to make my own holder.

I went and got a tall wipes box from the garage and covered it in my favorite wrapping paper.

Then I covered it with clear contact paper to protect it.
I ended up organizing the gift bags, tissue paper, curly ribbon and bows in the rectangular tub
It was super easy and didn't cost me a dime. LOVE that!!!

Awhile back I found this little holder at Savers.
It's been a long time since I've seen Holly Hobby.
I use to love her. Anyway...I thought this would be a great holder for our craft stuff.

I spray painted it inside and out. Then added cute scrapbook paper with modge podge
then I filled it with pens, pencils, scissors, tape and glue.
I was excited to get this done before school starts in two weeks.
Now I can just set this on the table after school and the
kids will have everything they need for homework.

With school starting soon and all the new school clothes
I decided it was time to make some hanging organizers to go in the closet.

each boy has a church, school and play clothes section.
I also did Ry and I's closet, but it's not exciting enough for pictures.
Next I am going to tackle Beccas closet and make lots and lots of bows!!!
It feels so good to organize.

Swim lessons

Our summer is just flying by. I can't believe the kids will be back in school in only 16 days!!!
The kids had a blast going to swim lessons mon-thurs all summer long. Thursday was their last day.

Here are the boys streching and warming up.
They took a strokes class and picked it up right away.
this is Jaden
his favorite was the butterfly
here is Kyle doing the back stroke
and some floating
Kyle said his favorite stroke is the freestyle

They had a lot of fun, and next year will be on the swim team. We can't wait!!!

Becca did NOT like swim lessons the first week. She just cried and cried but....

the teachers were SOOO good with her and she quickly learned there was nothing to be afraid of.

she loves to float and her favorite is bobbing and blowing bubbles under the water.

They even went to the deep end to practice jumpin in.

here she is working on her strokes.
I suppose the very best part of swim lessons is being with your best friend!
these two got to be in the same class for the last session and Becca thought it was the greatest thing.
I'm glad the kids learned so much and I had a lot of fun watching them progress.
Can't wait for next year!!

new hair cut

I knew it was only a matter of time...I walked down the hall and found this little pile of hair
which lead to this sweet girl caught red handed.

I stayed surprizingly calm and told Becca "only Mommy is allowed to cut hair. She can only cut paper, now you are going to look like a boy!"

well it was at that point that she broke down crying and saying over and over "I don't want to be a boy" ha ha ha. I think/HOPE she has learned her lesson.

it looked like a whole lot more on the floor. Once I was able to take a closer look, it wasn't to bad. Most of it I could blend thanks to her cute little curls.
I did have to go a lot shorter than I wanted to keep from ending up with a mullet.
as you can see it is way shorter there up on the side , but thankfully I didn't have to go that short everywhere. :)
Becca seems to love the short hair and as you can see she is beautiful no matter what.

squeaky clean

While doing his morning chores today Jaden started laughing when the mirror made that squeaky clean sound and then said "I wish dad's head made this sound when you rub it" (His dad is bald) ha ha. He cracks me up and makes even cleaning the bathroom way more fun that it's supposed to be. He brings so much happiness into our home. Love him!!!!

Princess Dance Camp

Becca was so excited to go to Princess Dance Camp this summer with some of her cute friends.
I love that these two love each other (almost all of the time, until one of them gets too bossy) ha ha!!!

they got to go to Ms. Wendy's Princess Dance camp complete with decorating their own crown

learning some dances, crafts and a royal lunch.
the show must go on, even if your crown doesn't quite stay put.
I love that Becca is such a girly girl. She was in heaven and so fun to watch.
She can not wait for her fall class to start. She talks about dance every.single. day!!!
