Baby Shower

My sweet friend Staci is at it again.  
The minute she found out I was pregnant her and Amy said they wanted to throw me a shower. 
I was so excited especially since I had given away everything.  
Then we sold our home and moved and I didn't think too much about it. 
Well....Staci was on top of it and made sure it still happened. 
I'm so glad she did too, it was sooooo much fun to see my friends again from the old ward. 
Amy hosted it in her home and Staci and Gwen made food assignments and pulled it all together. 
I love these ladies and hope they know just how much they mean to me. 
Their daily texts and phone calls is what lifts me up during this crazy hard time. 
I just love them to pieces and consider them my local "family" whom I can turn to ask for help when ever we need it which has been A LOT these last few weeks.   
Staci did all the decorating and it was adorable.  I loved this diaper wreath she made.  Too cute! 
My favortie part was the framed pictures that she had on the serving table.  She printed the pictures of my blog and it was so fun to have the guest be able to see my cute baby.  
 Most of the girls offered to bring food. 
 It was all soooo amazing. 
 My favorite was the strawberry cookie desert Gwen made. 
 I am going to include the recipe in case anyone wants to make it for the 4th of july. 
 It was amazing. 
I was thinking it would be cute to add blueberries to it and make it real patriotic. 
 Jodi made a yummy pina colada salad.  I need to get her recipe.  It was amazing. 
 I'm not sure who brought the rolls, but they were amazing. 
 Amy made the punch and it was soooo good. 
 I just loved all of the little details that went into it. 
Staci, Gwen and Amy really did a great job pulling it all together and it meant the world to me. 
 It's funny how after you move you realize you don't have pictures of your friends.  I was glad to get these sweet ladies.  I have grown to love each one of them.  They are amazing, each one of them. 
 These two are sister-in-laws and you couldn't ask for sweeter ladies. 
 Leslie and I have had a lot of the same struggles getting pregnant and she was soooo sweet and excited for me when I told her I was pregnant.  I LOVE and miss our long talks. It's her husband "Brother Hundley" that  Becca adores.  There entire family is just wonderful. 
 I absolutely adore Susan McMullin.  I was having a really really tuff time a few months ago.  I prayed really hard one morning to somehow find the strength I needed to let go of some hurt feelings someones actions had caused me and to focus on people who lift me up and let go of meaningless relationships.  Not even 10 minutes later there was a knock on my door.  And it was Susan.  She just got home from the grocery store, was putting away a frozen Marie Calender pie and was prompted that she needed to bring it to me right away.  :)  I never told her the details of my heart ache that day, but I let her know how much she made my day and that she was no doubt an answer to my prayer.  She made a comment about surrounding yourself with people who respect you and a friend will never leave you alone, especially when they are needed most.  WOAH....how did she know.  :)  I LOVE this woman and her obedience that helped me so much.  Now that that struggle is past me and I have learned to surround myself with people who lift me up, I hope to always followe her example of listening to the spirit and being an instrument in the Lords hand like Susan.  There is no one I admire more than my Mother.  Susan reminds me sooooo much of my mom .  (and they share the same name)  I just love and adore her.  :) 
 Heidi is a total sweet heart.  Right before I moved I wanted to get some ward recipes for a little mini ward cookbook.  I sent out 40 emails and Heidi was the only one who replied.  I just laughed it off and said I guess no one was interested.  She went thru her files and gathered all the recipes she got from enrichment and a cook book they did before I was even in the ward and she made me a little book.  It was so sweet of her and I am glad that I have a few recipes from that ward.  Ward cookbooks are the BEST.  Kayla was one of my primary achievement day girls as well as in my primary class.  She is such a sweet girl and I'm so glad she came. 
 Aubrey got the most adorable little clothes, blankets and assecories. 
I am thankful to all of my friends who came.  It was so nice to get to see and talk to everyone again.   I appreciate all of the time and details that Staci, Gwen and Amy put into the shower to make it extra special. 
I wish I could take these ladies with me to my new ward, but I am so thankful for the life long relationships that we have built.  I am blessed. 

Here is that to die for dessert. 
Note: You can save time by buying prepared sugar cookie dough sheets )pkg of 3 or 1 1/2 pkg sugar cookie squares) and place them on a cookie sheet, cook for 7 minutes (Very Important not to cook any longer). Let completely cool before assembling. Pretty much how I do it most of the time ;)

Directions:

Preheat oven 325
  1. In a bowl, combine sugar cookie mix and graham cracker crumbs.
  2. Add 1 cup melted butter, and fold until completely combined.
  3. Press evenly into 9 x13 glass baking dish.
  4. bake at 325' for 20 minutes. (Crust will be soft, no worries - it's suppose to be like this ;) cool completely.
  5. Meanwhile, clean strawberries and slice. Mix in 1/2 container of strawberry glaze and refrigerate until you are ready to assemble.
  6. Mix Cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla until creamy.
  7. Spread cream mixture on top of cool crust. (I spread just up to the edge, leaving the crust visible.
  8. top with layer of glazed strawberries.
  9. Carefully add remaining glaze.
  10. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  11. Enjoy with those you love!
  12. refrigerate any leftovers -- if you have any!
