Day 111, 4-21-09 Beauty Sleep

{B} thinks that her nap taking days are over. I'm soooo not ready for that. I still put her down for a nap but she usually just jabbers and plays in her bed the entire time. Well as I was busy getting things done, I looked over and saw her crashed on the couch. She must have been tired!

Day 110, 4-20-09 WE LOVE YOU GRAMMY!!!!

{R} sweet sweet Grandmother passed away this morning. This is one of my favorite pictures of her with {K} on his first birthday. Grammy was so darling with the kids and always made us all feel very loved. I am especially going to miss her weekly "check in on us" phone calls. She always talked to the kids and asked about school, video games and anything else going on. She was always so excited for them and so very involved and interested in what is going on in our lives. She is just the sweetest lady ever and we will miss her so very very much. We LOVE YOU GRAMMY!

Day 109, 4-19-09 Where's the Baby???

I was in the process of rearranging one of our food storage cubbards when {B} decided she was the perfect fit.
She played in here for a good 20 minutes, opening and shutting the door while I got things done. It was great! Who need toys Right???

Day 108-4-18-09 Scrapbook Convention

The scrapbook convention was awesome. I got all the paper and supplies to make my the Birth announcement for my brand new little niece. I also got the stuff for our Chirstmas cards. Early I know, but it was just so cute.

I loved the dollar scrapbooking booth and was so so so excited to buy tons and tons of rub-ons for $1.50 each.

I'm so excited to do some scrapbooking with all my new supplies.

After the convention we had a yummy lunch at Rosa's. It was fun for Shelley and I to get to hang out with Lydia again just like the good ol'days. Thank you Lydia for making the trip up here. It was so fun to get to go and play with you.

Day 106, 4-16-09 Our little singer

Jaden's class was picked to sing a song at the Elementary school 20th Anniversary. He did so good and sang all the words. What a cute boy he is!

Day 105, 4-15-09 A House of Order

Our FHE lesson this week was on the scripture found in D&C 88:119 about a house of order. We went on a little scavenger hunt through out the house. It each room they were supposed to find one thing that did not belong.
The boys room had my hair straightener in it.
The toaster was in {B}'s room.
{B}'s little pony was in the fridge ect.
We ended up in the family room and read the scripture.
Then we talked about why it is important to have a place for everything and everything in it's place. And how important it is for everyone to do their part.

The other day I bought some wood stars at Micheals. I was going to paint them a pretty cream color and cut some vinyl on the cricut with the kids names and use them as markers for our chore board at home. While trying to come up with a good activity to go along with or lesson I decided it would be fun for the kids to paint the stars themselves. This was kind of hard for me to do. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to projects and was a little apprehensive but then figured it's for the kids, and they would be more excited about the chore chart if they were involved with making it so I swallowed my pride and let them have at it.
They had a ball.
And they turned out pretty cute.
Here's the end result. It's pretty cute, and everytime I look at it I will remember the fun memory of making it together.

Day 104, 4-14-09 April visiting teaching

I really enjoyed this months Visiting Teaching message and thought I'd post what I did this month.

The 4 Things that I felt stood out from this month’s message were:

1. Recommit Ourselves To Reading the Scriptures, It doesn't matter when we do it, we just need to do it daily.

2. Treasure The Scriptures, I shared with the ladies I visit teach how I have tried to teach my children to Treasure the scriptures. I was looking all over for a coffee table that had doors so that we could have a good convenient spot to keep our scriptures. I looked all over and they were either more than I wanted to spend or not my style. Well one day I ran into the DI and saw this and knew right away that I wanted it and knew what I was going to do with it.

I filled it with all of our scriptures and other church books, like Preach my Gospel, Behold Your Little Ones, the Scripture easy readers and the Sunday school Prophet books ect... Then for FHE we had a lesson and talked about all the different treasures in the world and that the Gospel is our most valuable treasure. We had a treasure hunt and ended with them finding this new treasure chest filled with "The Word of God"-and a treat for refreshments.

3. Liken The Scriptures Unto Ourselves-I shared this post with them as a way we have taught our children to liken the scriptures.

4. Pray…” If we begin our studies with a pray it invites the Spirit to be with us and helps us to more clearly hear the things we should do.

This is the handout I gave my ladies. I used hershey nuggets because the are wrapped in gold and covered them with quotes from the message.

If anyone is interested in making some of these let me know and I'll email you a copy. I still have them saved on my computer or you can go to sugar doodle.com that's where I found them.

Day 103, 4-13-09 so sad to say goodbye

Monday was the last full day we got to spend with Tyson and Danielle so {R} took the day off and we played alot!
We spent the morning just chillin and Uncle Tyson did a puzzle with {B}

We had a yummy lunch at Cafe Rio. When the boys got home from school they all headed out to go shooting. I stayed home with {B}. {J} was so excited about this little piece of counter top he found. He ran in showed it to me and said "Dad said I can keep this counter topping" I keep asking him what it is, just to hear him say it over and over.

Tyson and Danielle also did a ride along with {r} yesterday and that was pretty cool. They headed out Tuesday morning so we let the kids go to school late and enjoyed a yummy breakfast with them at Denny's before they hit the road.

We had a lot of fun with Tyson and Danielle. It was so nice to have family in town again and we appreciate them coming all the way out here. They sure are CUTE with the kids

Day 102, 4-12-09 Easter Sunday

The Easter Bunny found us and the kids thought

it was awesome he knew to leave something for Tyson and Danielle.

After inspecting all their loot we headed out side for an egg hunt.

It was so cute, {B} started singing the clean up song as she picked up eggs. :)

The boys were much faster and got most of the eggs before {B}. All on his own, {K} took some of his eggs from his basket and re-hid them for her to find. It was sooooo sweet and made me so proud.

After the egg hunt we went to church and heard some Beautiful songs about the Savior and some amazing talks on the Atonement. It was a great Easter Sunday!

Day 101, 4-11-09 Fun filled day

{R} had to work the day his brother got in town so we went out to see him and went to dinner. It was for for the boys to get to see Dad in uniform, we had fun. I had some of the cutest picutres from our dinner and {R} and Tyson playing with {B} but they got erased. :( I'm so bummed.

The next moring we went to Krisy Kreme's for breakfast and then the mall.
Danielle and I both got our hair done at Regis.

The kids had fun decorating eggs

Everything is so much better with an Aunt and Uncle around.

After we decorated eggs Tyson and Danielle took the boys to Monsters vs. Aliens.
They LOVED it.

Thanks for making the looooonnnggg car ride here. We all had so much fun visit and will cherish the memories made.

Day 100, 4-10-09 Guess who's coming to town?

{R}'s brother and his wife are coming to town for a visit. The boys have been excited and have asked about 50 billion times when they will be here. {R} called to see where they were at later in the day and he got off and told the boys they would be here by 5 or 6. {K} quickly spoke up and said "I pick 5:00"! :) It seems they can't get here soon enough. We are looking forward to a nice visit with some of {r}'s family.

Day 99, 4-9-09, We've waited a long time for this

{J} finally lost his first tooth. I think he was beginning to think he'd never loose one. I woke up to hearing little squeals of excitement followed by both boys jumping in our bed to tell us he finally lost a tooth.

Day 98, 4-8-09 what's for lunch?

Every night I ask the boys what kind of sandwhich they want in their lunch and it's always the same. A Peanut Butter and Jelly for {J} and a "salad" sandwhich for {K}. It cracks me up everytime he says it, never mind that it's really a ham sandwhich he is more focused on the lettuce and since he calls all lettuce salad he therefore calls it a "salad sandwhich" I get a good chuckle out of it everytime I here him say it. I should probablly teach him the "real" name, but it's just so cute so for now salad sandwhich it is!

Day 97-4-7-09 Keepin it real

{B} is seriously the Happiest little kid I have ever met. She is always happy and has the biggest smile on her face pretty much all the time but occasionaly she can be found like this...
Like when her daddy runs into the subway to pick up lunch while mom and {B} stay in the car. She was not happy about being left. She cried for about 30 seconds and after I took this picture and she saw the flash she said cheese, it a sad little voice, :) and that was the end of that tantrum. I do feel very blessed to have such a sweet happy child 98.9% of the time.

Day 96-4-6-09 Mommy and Me Brunch

{B} and I got invited to a Mommy and Me Easter egg hunt and brunch.
{B} loved the invitation. It had a cute little chick in an egg on the front and she walked around with it chirping for quite some time

We were both SOOOO excited to get to go spend some much needed time out socializing with others but then...

last I broke out with a fever and feel awful today. I am dizzy when I stand up and just don't feel good at all. Luckily {B} is too little to know that she's missing it, but I'm pretty bummed knowing I could be their right now if I wasn't so darn sick.

We just love the family that invited us, they have to cutest little boys and I've been wanting to get to know them better. {R} serves with the Dad in YM's and he is so funny and a really great guy. Hopefully we'll get to do something when I am back up and running, until then it's back to bed for me!

Day 95, 4-5-09 Just Because

{R} surprised me with these pretty flowers today "just because". It made my day and makes me smile everytime I see them. Thanks hun!

Day 94, 4-4-09 General Conference

{R} taught a great lesson for FHE this week using the scripture found in Mosiah 2:6. He talked about how they pitched their tents with the door facing the temple while they listened to the Prophet. He talked about liking the scriptures unto us and how we can do the same thing this weekend by listening to conference.
Friday night before going to bed {R} set up this tent for the boys
I put together little "quiet" baskets for the boys to use.
It was a big hit.

Daddy keeping {B} happy with her new color wonder markers.

I also made this poster and it's been hanging up for a couple days. On the back of each pic. is some interesting facts about each one. This was also great after each session we'd ask them who spoke and what they taught us.

Day 93, 4-3-09 Lets go fly a kite

It's been super windy here so we decide it was the perfect change to let {J} try out his new Ben 10 kite he got for his birthday.
I was so impressed with how well the kids did
Getting ready to fly the big kite

He's a natural

{K} is the sweetest big brother. I love watching him with {B}, he's so good with her.

Boy was in windy!

It was such a fun way to spend time together as a family.
