Am I nuts or what!!!

I'm SO excited. My friends Amy, Becky, Holly and myself have all decided to do our first triathlon. It's the Vegas Triathlon in April. We are going to train together and race it together. I don't care what place I come in at I just want to be able to say I completed it. I thought my blog would be a great place to log my workouts and keep motivated by all of you. Maybe I'm nuts but it's official now so no backing out for me. :)

Doctor visit Jan 29

I just got back from the doctor to get my stitches out. One of the “moles” or growths that they removed was a dermato fibroma. I always feel so overwhelmed when I leave the doctors office and I wanted to remember everything they told me for this journal so I took notes and had them spell everything out for me. Anyway, They said that a dermato fibroma is no big deal. It’s usually caused by scar tissue from an ingrown hair or bug bite. The other two moles and tumor however came back as a stage 2 melanoma. He said my lymph nodes still have a lot of cancer cells in them and I will have to have another surgery right away. He wants me to wait at least a week before the next surgery though so we are scheduled for Feb 12th. (The day before Becca’s 1st birthday) It was killing me to not be able to hold her and I am bummed I will have to go through this all over. I’m a bit nervous but he said that it is good I came in when I did. I am so so grateful for an in-tune husband who told me I had to get in and have it all looked at. After the stitches are out from this next surgery I will have some adjuvant treatment to hopefully prevent it from coming back. I don't know much about the treatment and he said we will go over that when it's time. I really like this doctor and appreciate how he took the time to answer my questions.

My stinkin cute Jaden

I have this habit of always putting the word stinkin in front of everything to emphasize how things really are. examples... that is so stinkin cute, I was so stinkin worried, I'm so stinkin tired. ect.. you get the point. Well yesterday we were at the store and Jaden saw something a bit unusual and said "wow, that was so spanking weird!" ha ha. It was cute.

How do YOU feel?

Well it looks like all of my kids are getting this little bug. I went in to check on Kyle before going to bed and he is burning up. I went and got him some motrin. Then we had the following conversation.
mom-You're burning up, how do you feel?'
Kyle-"umm...I feel medium".
Mommy "Oh my, how do you feel medium?
Kyle "well I feel a little bit Red and a little bit hot".

A True Man of God

Since the passing of our Prophet I thought I'd take a few minutes to jot down my feelings about this AMAZING man of God. I remember a couple years ago I was at a fireside and the speaker said the President Hinkley said he feared he would be the Prophet that no one would listen to or take serious. Well shortly after that Pres. Hinkley gave us all the challenge to re-read the Book Of Mormon cover to cover before the end of the year. I knew immediately that I was going to "listen to and take serious. " his council. Although I was already almost at the end of 3rd Nephi I started over and I did re-read the Book Of Mormon and it was an incredible experience for me. I am so grateful to him for his challenge and for the growth I recieved from my daily reading and journal writing about my experiences.

I love the example President and Sister Hinkley gave us all on how our marriages should be. I love how they lit up when in each others presence. I know he is happy to be with his sweetheart and I look forward to hearing more about him as we celebrate his life in the next few days.

the LOOOONG night!

Becca was up all night with a fever. Since I still am not supposed to lift her, Ryan and I both got up with her to help her through the night. Her fever is gone this morning but she still seems to not be feeling very well. She seems to only want to be snuggled close safe in daddys arms. (I don't blame her) What a sweet little bond they share.

Becca is very good at walking with furniture. She even let go and was standing all by herself. She was watching Elmo on T.V. but freaked out when she realized it and sat down. Yikes, my baby will be walking all by herself soon I'm sure.



Becca loves to do her own hair. Anytime she see's her comb she grabs for it. We have a good system in place though. I let her do her own hair first and then she lets me finish it, otherwise she just grabs at the comb the whole time I'm doing her hair. She's such a girly girl, I LOVE it!

it was where???

Kyle keeps forgetting to bring his jacket home. It is chilli in the morning when he goes to school and then nice and sunny when he comes home. I've been after him to remember to bring his jackets home. Well Friday he came home with all 4. I asked him where they were and he said "in the lost and fountain"

Thursday Night Fun

So every Thursday we have X-box/scrapbooking night with our friends The Cowleys. We always have dinner together tuck the kids in bed and then the fun begins. Here is the page I did tonight, and here are the boys having fun.

Sweet Little Rebecca

I've been wanting to sew on a page so I finally did one today. You can't see it very good, but I think it turned out cute. I sewed along the edge of each paper.

Here is Jadens 1 year old picture. Again it's hard to see the writing. The top writing is a stamp that says "you are my sunshine" under the picture it says "You are my sunshine" has always been our little song. I love you my little sunshine. Love, mommy.

Here is a new page I did today. It's hard to read, but it says Miracle baby up on top, and 3 hours old on the bottom. Kyle really is our little miracle baby. He had such a hard beginning, (he was 3 months premature). We are so blessed to have such a strong happy healthy little boy that he is today.

New Piano teacher.

Kyle had his first piano lesson yesterday. He was so excited and came home and practiced right away. His teacher is in our ward and really sweet. She is an incredible pianist, I am so happy we were able to get him in.

fun in the fort

The boys made a pretty cool fort the other night and wanted Becca and I to come and check it out. We couldn't enter unless we gave the secret password which is the First Article of Faith. We are going to S.D. this summer for a family reunion when my parents get off their mission. Grandma/pa Mitchell challenged us to learn the Articles of Faith before they get released. We told the boys we would go to Storybook Island, Mt. Rushmore ect..... when the know all 13. They are doing so good and I was pleased when I kept hearing them recite the first one each time they would re-enter the fort. By the was Becca loved the fort and thought it was great too.

Baby got curls

Yesterday at church somebody asked me if I gave Becca a perm. It made me laugh. I love having a girl. She is so cute and I love to play with her hair and dress her up. Here are some pictures of her little curls. (and her hair finally stays in a clip. Yippy)
