Day 163 and 164

Day 163 6-12-09

{K} finally got to go his very first cub scout Day Camp. He's so funny, he came home the first day and said "I did not like Day Camp!" I said "oh dear, that's too bad" I was about to give him a little speech about having a good attitude and you get out of it what you put into it ect... and then he said "I didn't like it I LOVED it!" I was relieved to hear him say that and boy did he ever love it, he's still talking about all the things they did. They made marshmellow guns and this cool sling shot. He thought is was extra special to have his Dad come as one of the parent chaperons, I love how envolved and supportive/willing {R} is, it means so much to me and the kids.

While {K} was at day camp I took {J} and {B} out to dinner. Then we rented a movie and they each picked a treat to eat while they watched the show. {J} picked swedish fish and {B} had M&M's.
Day 164, 6-13-09
For today's "adventure" we had a pizza party. The kids LOVED making their own pizzas.

check out {B}'s pile of cheese. :)

In the oven they go.

Mmm...looks too cute to eat.

I'd say...

it was a big hit

for everyone!

Day 161 and 162

Day 161, 6-10-09
While working in the yard as a family the boys found a dead bird on the side of the house. {K} wanted to bury it and have a little ceremony. He made this marker and had so much good to say about the little bird he never even knew.
Day 162, 6-11-09

I had {K} draw a picture of his favorite part of summer vacation so far. I thought this was really cute. It's when we went and saw "Up" at the movie theater. The red squares are the chairs with the back of all the little heads. On screen is Mr.Frederickson and Randall. Too cute!

Day 160, 06-09-09

I've been looking all over for a new comforter to match our green bedroom but haven't had any luck, While out running errands I decided to stop in and check out the big clearance sale at JCPenny home. I can't tell you how happy I was to find this cute bed set that would finally match our room and even more excited when I saw that it was 6o% off. It's hard to see but their is green in it and it matches perfect with the wall. Now I just need some pointers on how to make all the pillows look good. Should I go buy some more pillows to even out the look? I set it up just like the picture on the bag, but mine doesn't look quite right. Oh how I wish decorating was one of my "things", it soooo is not. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Day 158, 6-07-09 My journals

I had decided to switch things up and post once a week but frankly I just don't like it. Since I am still doing the project 365 scrapbook challenge I would rather take 2 minutes a day to upload a pic and write about it real quick than taking a lot longer once a week. It takes me forever to do a week at a time for some reason. It's just what works for me. Not only am I doing the 365 project, but I use my blog as our family journal. For all those little everyday moments that I just don't want to forget. When the year is up I am going to get the blog printed in a book. I also have my regular daily journal where I record my feelings, frusterations and spiritual type experiences that I just don't want the blogging world to read. The smaller journal is my "Tender Mercy" journal where I jot down daily tender mercies I recieve. It's amazing how many of those we get daily and the different ways they come to us. These are the days I want to remember for the rest of my life so back to daily family bloggging I will go.

Day 157, 6-06-09

The boys went to a friends b-day swim party at Brimhall. I love this wrapping paper I found, I think it's so cute. I made a card to match. I think B-day cards are one of my favorites to make.

Days 152-156

Day 152, 6-01-09
I decided that I wanted to try and make this summer an extra fun summer for the kids. I remember growing up how much I LOVED summer vacation and it's because my mom made it great. I bought a big roll of tickets and everyday before our "adventure" the kids have to do little jobs to earn their ticket. Today for our adventure the kids ran through the sprinklers and then decided to put it next to the slide and make it a water slide. When they were all done we each enjoyed a Popsicle. The Cowley's are visiting for a week and so it's been a lot of fun to have them join in on our little adventures. :)
Day 153, 6-02-09
Today for our adventure I filled up about 40 water balloons and gave each kid a squirt gun. They had a blast getting each other and were so fun to watch.

Day 154, 6-03-09
Amy and I have been getting some scrapbooking done. It's just like the good ol' days. I LOVE it! Here's a card I did for my sister and her new baby.

The kids LOVE to have tickle wars with {R}. It was just like the good ol' days to see the Cowley kids jump in on it too. They are like his own to him and he really loves them and plays so cute with them and I get a kick out of him getting squished by so many little people. {B} kept screaming "I tickle dad, I tickle dad"
Day 155, 6-04-09
The babies have all caught a cold so they stayed home during today's adventure and had a nap but {R} took the older three to Brimhall to swim. I love the summer pass we bought, we've already got our money's worth and the summer has just begun.
Amy and I stayed home and scrapbooked some, for dinner {R} rented a movie and we ordered pizza. He got ALL the kids to bed while Amy and I went shopping. {isn't he the best}. It was so much fun to have some girl time with out kids with Amy.
Day 156, 6-05-09

I had thought about taking the kids to Krispy Kream for a free donut for today's adventure but that much sugar in their bodies did not sound fun to me so instead we went to see "UP". Other than two of the boys dropping their cups before we even sat down, we had a great time. {B} was entertained for the most part so I'd say it was a success.
