Spring Break recap

Monday, We spent the first day of Spring break spring cleaning. We cleaned out the kids closets and toys and got rid of so much stuff. We also started a little kitchen remodeling job. (but that's a whole other post)
{B} had a great time helping us tear down the wood paneling and peeling off the the liquid nails from the wall.
Tuesday we went to see "The Princess and the Frog" with some friends.
We are loving this gorgoues weather.

we packed a picnic and spent a couple of hours at the park with our good friends on Wednesday
The big boys had fun on the basket ball court.
Thursday was AWESOME. Ry was off and let me have the entire day off. My cute friend Janeal and I went to Matta's for lunch and then to a chic flick. We saw "Did you hear about the Morgans" It was pretty cute. I had so much fun and loooved visiting and getting to have some me time.
When I got home Ry heated up the grill and made us a yummy BBQ dinner.
I had a full day that I didn't have to cook. Unbelieveable!!! (although I do like to cook).
The boys ate it in there cool new fort.
then we decided to sleep on the trampoline.
The kids LOVED it and have asked to sleep out there every night since.
Friday we all worked really hard together in the yard. That night we went out to eat.

Once a month Ry and I take one of the kids with us on our weekly date. Ry does a really cute job about making sure they open my doors and know how to order and such. Well we always try and convince them to try new resturants, but they always get to pick what we do and where we eat. It has been great and I think they are discovering how much fun it is to try new places.

{K} has been wanting to go to the 5 and Diner for a while now. So tonight we decided to try it out with the whole family. It was your typical Diner and lots of fun.

{K} decorated this darling hat for {B}. I thought he did a great job. It has three of her favorite princesses. {B} LOVED it. He is such a sweet big brother.
We had a lot of fun this week and I'm so proud of the hard working little buddies I've got!
Happy Spring Everyone!!!

Happy First Day of Spring Break

This week is spring break. We have A LOT of projects I want to get done . We will have a house full of company next week so we decided to stay in town this year. I told the kids that spring break is a time for us to do our spring cleaning. Jobs like washing all the windows, vents, cieling fans and other chores we don't do on a weekly basis. We are going to work hard together each morning and then they get free time in the afternoon. I wanted to start today off with a big bang so I decided to make them breakfast in bed.
Since both boys get up at the crack of dawn I actually had to send them back to bed. I told them I had a surprize for them and they were not to get out of bed until I come get them. They were excited.

When I walked in with their trays of food they were very VERY excited. I sang "Happy First Day of Spring Break" to the tune of happy birthday and they were all smiles.

{B} on the other hand. She is my little sleeper. She goes to bed so easy at night and does NOT like being woken up before she is ready. I was a little nervous she might wake up crabby.

She seemed a little confussed but once the boys and I started singing
Happy Spring Break to her she got into it.

Even though we are staying home I hope to make a lot of fun memories with the kids and get a lot done as well.
HAPPY SPRING BREAK EVERYONE!!!

Indoor picnic

We have been doing A LOT of spring cleaning here. It feels so good to get rid of junk. The other day while sorting through toys {B} saw her Dora backpack and has been asking ever since if we could have a picnic.

We decided today was the day. We were going to go to the park but it's been a bit breezy and she's had a cold so we opted for an indoor picnic.

Mmm, Mmm...eating the beloved PB&J sandwhich.

I have a million and one things to do today, but I am so glad we finally made time for her picnic and that we were able to spend some time together being silly and talking about all things important such as princess, dora and Daddy!

Made me realize today how fast she is growing up and to remember to take time and enjoy this
darling little stage she is in. It goes by fast, too fast!!!

Blue and Gold Banquet

The Cub Scouts had their Blue and Gold Banquet last week. Ry took the day off so he could come and support {K}. We did a Birthday party theme in honor of the 100th birthday of Scouting. We started with dinner and a huge cake made out of ricecrispies for dessert.
We had this really cool entertainer show up
he was so funny the kids and adults both were laughing.
I always love to watch juggling and he was amazing!
the kids LOVED him. He was so good and we are hoping to have him do Jaden's birthday party.

Last minute party.

We had a lot of errands to run and on our way home I asked the boys what they wanted for dinner. They came up with a lot of choices but ended up wanting to make pizza, of course pizza always means a party right? I let each of the boys pick who the wanted to have come over and the party began.
They all got to decorate their own pizza's. We had sausage, ham, pineapple, pepperoni and cheese.

These were yummy, and the kids were adorable. We LOVE our friends and were so glad they were able to come even if it was last minute.

1st day of school

We decided to switch the boys into a different school. It has been the difference between night and day. We are so happy about this choice. The boys love it and are being challenged and I feel given the opportunity to reach their full potential. They both have amazing teachers and have gone up a whole grade level in work.
I love it!!!

Many thanks!

{B} really got spoiled this year for her birthday, so we wanted to be sure and take time to thank all those who took the time to make her feel like a "princess" on her special day!
She ended up making 16 cards in all so she was getting really good with her name when it was all said and done. It's exciting to see her fine motor skills developing.
I love activities that teach not only academically but gratitude as well.
