Day 188, 07-07-09

Alphabet Summer Letter P
I set out a bunch of scrap paper and let the kids use my scrapbooking paper punch to make Polka-dots to put on their P's
They turned out pretty cute, here's the final product
After decorating our P's we went to the Public library to watch a Puppet show.
It was a really cute show and all the kids seemed to like it
When we got home I gave everybody some popsicle craft sticks
We each drew a picture on the sticks turning it into a puzzle. It was harder to draw on them than I thought it would be, but they did good.
Some how when I wasn't looking my sweet hubby made one too. This is what I found

here it is all put together. Ahhh....he's so sweet!
After putting each others puzzles together we had Peanut butter and jelly Pig Puzzle sandwhiches, with Pineapple and Pretzels.
Our story for the day was "If You Give A Pig A Pancake". I love her books, they are funny.

Day 185, 7-4-09

We had such a fun 4th of July. {R} had to work, but took the day off so we could all be together.

We started the day by getting a dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts and headed over to the park for breakfast and for some playground fun.

Later we all went swimming.

{J} is like a fish in water. I just love this little picture of him.
{K} is supposed to help plan and prepare an outside meal for cub scouts so he helped me make a menu and go to the store and get all the fixins. {he was so cute, he was a really great helper and kept saying this is going to be good for me to know how to do for my mission}.

He got to flip the meat and thought that was AWESOME!
He did a great job and is getting so close to earning is Wolf badge for scouts.

Next we opened a box of popits for the kids to try.
They loved them.

Finally it was time to head over to see some fireworks with friends.
The fireworks show was incredible. We were right under them. So close infact that one of the pellets landed on {R}'s arm. It was still HOT. Glad he didn't get burned although we all joked that he could have sued somebody and made some money. Ha ha!
sweet little {B} saw the first 2 or 3 go off and then got a little scared and kept saying "I go home now, all done, I go home now". {R} started pointing out all the different colors and held her tight and then she was just fine.
We got in the car and she was out cold. {K} wanted to call Aunt Christy {and so did I} this was our first 4th without them and we were all missing them. I had sooo much fun talking with her and it was the perfect way to end the perfect day. {I miss you soooooo much}!
I'm so grateful to the men and women who have and continue to fight for our Country so that we can enjoy all that we enjoy. We all had so much fun, can't wait for next year so we can do it all again!

Day 184, 7-3-09

We started a day early with our Independence Day Celebrations and headed over to the Gotzingers house. (I forgot to take my camera, but her is a picture of the cookies we shared) We sure had fun!
My friend had asked me to make some 4th of July bows for her cute little girls so this is what I made them. I made {B} a set too, hers was a little different though.
I decorated some crocks for {B}. I looked EVERYWHERE for a brighter blue shoe, but could not find some anywhere. I know I've seen them before. Oh well. {B} loved them and looked so cute.

Day 183, 7-02-09

Now that it is July I decided to start our "Alphabet Summer" as part of our daily "adventures". Each day we will pick a letter and then do a craft and activity that go along with the letter and also read a book that starts or goes with the letter.
Today we started with the letter I. I used my cricut and cut out a big letter I. Then I drew the icecream and had the kids cut, glue and decorate them. I love how serious {B} is with scissors. We have a lot of work to do, but she tries real hard. I was worried the boys would loose interest since they know all their letters but they had a blast. They love anything crafty and really got into it.
After our craft we took the kids to the movies to see "Ice Age" they were trying to guess where we were going and one of them said to see a movie and I said does movie start with I? Then {J} said "Ice Age does, are we seeing ICE AGE???" lol. He was excited.

When we got home from the movies we made Icecream in a bag.

They all had a lot of fun shaking their bags, but they really loved eating it.
Then we read "I wanna Iguanna".

Day 182, 7-01-09

After I tucked the kids in bed I heard a sweet little voice singing I Am A Child Of God. I went to investigate and was able to snatch this picture before she saw me.
She was singing her baby to sleep.

What a sweet girl she is.
