Last Sunday our A/C went out. Our dear friends took pitty on us and let us stay with them for 5 days. It was so hot and miserable in our home and I am so grateful for their kindness. It was kind of like a mini vacation the kids had a ton of fun and I loved all the visiting and scrapbooking we were able to do. Plus all of the DELICIOUS food. YUM!!!! I have yet to find something that Amy is not good at. I want to be like her when I grow up. :)

Family visit continued...

Saturday morning the guys went shooting and the girls and little kiddos went to breakfast at Crackers Cafe. Yum!!!

That night Ryan took Tyson, Danielle and Alex to work with him and they got to go on ride alongs with Ryan and some of the other guys on the squad. They never said much when they got home, it was pretty late but I think they had fun. I wasn't there so there are no pictures.



Since they left early sunday morning we had Birthday donuts for Alex's birthday instead of cake. We hope he had a good one and knows how much we love him!

It was fun to have Ry's family visit and we are excited to go see them in a few days.

Friday night while Ryan's brothers were in town we decided to get some friends and go on a big group date to Dave and Busters. It was a lot of fun.

We got all eight race cars and raced each other. It was fun cause you could ram each other off the road. Amy was winning pretty much the whole game and then Ryan rammed her off the road and we all passed her and she ended up in last place.

We set Alex (Ry's brother) up with Jessica one of my Laurels from when I was YW pres. Amy was her advisor and we have so much fun hanging out with her and her best friend Kalli and knew she'd be a blast. I'm just glad she doesn't mind hanging out with us. She is one of us and we have so much fun talking and giggling when we are together.

Fun with Family

Ryan's Dad, 2 brothers and his SIL are in town for a visit. They came on their motorcycles and it has been so much fun to sit and visit.

Becca was as happy as can be to sit with Grandpa Moody. She has oreo all over her face in this pic. but she sure is happy to have her Grandpa.

When he wasn't cooking he was entertaining the little ones. We are not going to want to let them leave.

We did it!

Ryan and I were able to be a Ma and Pa on the Pioneer Trek with the youth from our ward. We have some really incredible youth and they were so fun to be around.

I've never gone on a Trek before and I wasn't quite sure what to exspect. It was really neat and such a huge testimony builder of what was done in our behalf.

As we would Trek we stopped at different spots where they had a pioneer there to tell their story. The best one was the Sweetwater River crossing. First they asked for 6 boy volunteers then they told how six young men came to rescue the pioneers and help them cross the ice cold river. They said there were blocks of ice in the water that were razor blade sharp. These boys legs were frozen and huge chunks taken out from the ice but they kept going. It took them a day and a half to get all 500+ people across, after which they laid down and died. When they finished telling us that story the 6 volunteers then had to take our companys hand carts across this dried out ravine, they then had to carry each member of our group across including adults. We had some pretty big strong men that they boys picked up and carried. The boys did so good and were sweating up a storm. One of the boys was taking another boy across who was bigger than him and he fell and cut his leg. The boy he was carrying then picked him up and took him to the other side and then took his place in the rescue. It was very touching.

We enjoyed the typical pioneer games. It was a lot of fun watching the kids compete. We had some really great matches.

We had to stop and wait for the group in front of us and two of my cute teens made the best of the situation.

They actually started going really fast and went for quite a while.

I was sooo impressed with the hard work. We had some really strong boys that were very helpful. Everyone was so possitive and had such great attitudes. It was great.

We made it to imdependence rock! The half way point for the Pioneers.

We all signed our names on a big piece of wood. When they asked the forest service about using a rock they said absolutely no graffiti of any kind. I would have never thought to ask. Glad the Stake leaders did. :)

This really was a great experience and I am so grateful I was able to go. It really was amazing how much of an appreciation we all got out of just 3 days worth of Treking. Our Stake leaders did such a great job and it was so fun to get to know the youth of our new ward better. There was definately a lot of testimony growth this weekend.

*A special shout out to Amy who took the kids while we were gone. She sure had her hands full, but is so sweet about it. It was so nice to not have to worry about our kids the entire time. Thank you, THANK YOU!

Random I know, but am I the only one confused???

So I thought that Mother's Day was always the 2nds Sunday of the month of May and Father's day the 2nd Sunday of June. I knew that we fasted last week so I just assumed that today was Fathers day. Still not sure why it's not, but I'm glad beings how we just got back from the Trek with the youth in our ward. I tried to have all our gifts in the mail but was not quite done with the gift's for Grandpa's. Whew...I have another week, I HATE being late!

Best ride EVER!

Uncle Kendall came and stayed with us for the weekend. He is always so much fun to be around. Even though we hardly saw him, the kids loved being with him. Becca especially loved her ride in the space ship {Kendall flying her around the house with the most incredible sound effects}

Becca was having so much fun and did not want to be finished. Uncle Kendall was a good sport and just kept giving her a ride. [I wish it wasn't so dang blurry, but they were moving pretty fast]
