Birthday Surprise!

My best friend had a birthday and her sweet hubby put together a surprise girls get a way. It was SO.MUCH.FUN!!!!

Knowing how creative Amy is and how much she loves to craft he told us all instead of bringing gifts we were supposed to bring all the supplies for everyone to do a craft. We made Valentine blocks, ruffle bags, a valentine decoration with a knob and heart hanging from it, ruffle aprons, hair bows, magnets and a memory quilt for Amy.
Tom did all of the cooking and planning. He rented a cabin and when I say cabin I mean mansion, It was huge and fancy and so much fun. Tom thought of everything and it was all just so fabulous. It's no wonder these guys are our very best friends! We love them to pieces.
Happy Birthday Amy, so glad I was finally able to get to spend another one with you!

Ewwww.......

WARNING: this post is gross, do not read if you have a weak stomach. haha

A while ago we took the kids to a big huge candy store. They had these real flavored crickets that were even organic. We got them as a gag to have at our Halloween party. Well we didn't end up using them.
Jaden found them and asked if he could eat one.
I did not think he really would but......
EWWWW......he did. It was disgusting, you could hear the crunch. Ewwwww......

I am glad tho that he now has NO excuse for eating his vegetables. If he can eat a dead cricket, he can eat my cooking. :) Ewwww!!!!!

not so little anymore.

Kyle got glasses and I can't believe how grown up they make him look. When he first put them on I thought I was going to cry. My baby is not so little anymore is he, but he sure is handsome!

Rapunzel

My friend Janell and I took Becca and her daughter Cambree out for a girls day awhile back. We went and saw the movie Tangled. It was a.dor.able. Seriously one of my new favorites. Becca LOVED it. A few days later she came up to me and said she wanted to be Rapunzel. My suggesstion of her just pretending to have long hair just did not fly with her....then I remembered a piece of yellow felt I had in my fabric stash and I made her her very own rapunzel wig. SHE LOVED it and looked so cute wearing her new hair and acting out different parts of the movie. I love my little Rapunzel.

Our Little Sunbeam

I can't believe it...our little Becca started Sunbeams this week. I was so not ready for this. I don't know if it's because she is my last child or what but I was just so emotional watching her sit in the big primary chairs. It was a happy but sad experience for me. I was asked to sub the class that sits behind her and boy was that a riot. She sat in front of me, legs crossed indian style and her arms folded. She kept turning around with arms folded whispering "mommy....mommy" finally I answered and whispered what to which she smiled and said "I love you" :)

we practiced all week folding our arms and walking reverently. :)

we don't start church until noon now so I had a lot of fun putting pretty curls in her hair. She loved it too.
Becca truely is such a bright light in my life. I'm so glad we were blessed to have her join our family.

Bringing in the New Year

I'm so sad I didn't get pictues, but I still wanted to document our fun night out with the Clements. We headed over to the Redhouse's for the most amazing dinner. We all brought our own beef and the guys grilled them up. Lisa made the most incredible stuffed mushrooms. (I have got to get the recipe) and we all brought a side. Her home was decorated beautifully and the table was set up so fancy. It was a lot of fun. The Julanders and Rays were there too. I'm glad we were able to go and it was so fun to be with friends from the old ward. We played golf (the card game) and that was a blast. Then we played cranium boys against girls and I honestly don't remember who one, but I really think I did. The highlight of the night was watching Becky act out a Lava Lamp during the charades round. hahaha :) so cute!

I was actually quite surprized that ALL 3 of my kids stayed up way past midnight. I thought for sure Kyle and Becca would crash. Jaden is definately my night owl. Then again the clements were staying with us and they are just so much fun I should have known better. Becca gave us all make overs with her new little toy hairdryer and we played some more games. Oodles and rate your mate. They were both a ton of fun.
The kids had been playing video games all night and just after midnight Christy and I took a shoot at it. Oh my heavens, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. It was the perfect way to start the new year.

Birthday Boy

For Kyle's birthday we did our traditional birthday door. It use to be a wall that we decorate but in this house it just works to do our garage door right by the kitchen table. Anyway...Christy hung all the pictures and cute drawings, certificates, school pictures etc...from thru-out Kyle's life. I love this tradition and always keep it up for a good week. I know the kids have fun looking at it and I just love looking back at how much they have grown and accomplished. We of course hung the birhtday banner that we use for every birthday.
Kyle LOVES krispy kreme donuts so that's what we had for breakfast. Then he opened presents. He was so excited about all of his gifts.
I did a interview with him and can't wait to scrapbook it. Here are this years answers.
